Our Team

Barb Johnson

Director, Co-Founder

Barb has extensive experience in curriculum development and program management for elementary school programs, and is the creative director for Wicked Cool. Barb has a MA Educator’s License in General Science, a Masters of Health Professions from Northeastern University, and a BA in Biology from Merrimack College. She has experience as a classroom math and science teacher and as an informal science educator.    She is a graduate of the Boston Emerging Leaders Program and is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers (MAST) and the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA).  Barb is married and has two sons.  Barb is obsessed with all things Disney for inspiration and loves the Red Sox and Patriots.

Cindy Carrabba

Supply Manager

Cindy has been with Wicked Cool for Kids since 2008.  Her responsibilities include research, ordering, inventory, and distribution of supplies for the various art, science and technology programs.  Cindy builds prototypes and working models of all our projects for our packing crew (yes, she makes catapults and colors for a living).  Cindy has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.    She is married and has three grown daughters and three grandchildren.  She is an avid traveler and a huge Bruins fan.

Stephanie Cross

Education Coordinator

Stephanie began as an instructor with WCFK in 2018.  She has extensive experience as a science teacher and as a teacher mentor.  Stephanie is responsible for recruiting new staff to join WCFK, as well as managing our teacher training and mentoring program.  For inquiries regarding jobs or internship opportunities at WCFK, email Stephanie at scross@wickedcoolforkids.com.  If you want to hear Stephanie's awesome British accent you can reach her at 781-281-2180.

Yahira Torres

Business Manager

Yahira started with Wicked Cool in 2014 as a Materials Coordinator in the warehouse, helping to organize supplies and logistics for our teachers.  She has an Associates Degree in Business Administration and in Graphic Design from Middlesex Community College and a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from UMass Lowell.  Yahira is mom to two elementary school aged children. Yahira is also the founder of a non-Profit that supports women with breast cancer.  Check out her Pride Retreat Instagram Page.   And since you may want to ask...it's pronounced Yah-hi-rah (not Yah-here-rah)  :)

AManda Pang

Program Coordinator

Amanda joined Wicked Cool For Kids as a warehouse assistant in 2022.  She now serves as our program coordinator.   Amanda also works as a high school basketball and soccer coach.

Paul McCarthy

Inventory Assistant

Paul has been with Wicked Cool For Kids since 2018.  He received his associate’s degree from Middlesex Community College, and has a degree in accounting from Merrimack College.  Paul allocates inventory and keeps track of all our supplies from plastic spiders, to glitter and catapults.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading mystery novels.  His dream is to someday be the proud owner of a Basset Hound.

In Memoriam: Tim Rees

Co-Founder

Tim was a senior education manager with extensive experience in program management and business development.   Tim's inspiration and passion for Wicked Cool will continue to inspire us to work hard, stay focused and provide the best STEAM products we can.
